Cinnamon “La Canela” Leggett is an award-winning Latin singer, songwriter, percussionist, and community leader whose artistry bridges cultures and uplifts communities. With a sound rooted in Afro-Latin rhythms and contemporary influences, she blends salsa, jazz, bomba, plena, and modern Latin fusion to create a vibrant musical experience that connects deeply with audiences worldwide.
Recognized by Professor Euro Zambrano and Kassandra Kokoshis, Directors of Music Production and World Music at Los Angeles City College, Cinnamon is celebrated for her extraordinary musicianship, emotional depth, and rare leadership ability. She is a multi-instrumentalist, seamlessly moving between piano, guitar, vocals, and percussion, while inspiring the musicians she works with. Zambrano describes her performances as “technically impressive and emotionally engaging,” praising her gift for bringing people together and elevating every ensemble she leads.
In 2023, Cinnamon co-wrote and delivered powerful lead vocals for the first-ever Latin arrangement of the U.S. National Anthem, “The Star-Spangled Banner (Latin Version)”, recorded with Los Angeles City College Music. The project garnered widespread attention, achieving significant streaming traction within days of its release and spotlighting Cinnamon’s creative vision and vocal artistry.
Beyond the stage, Cinnamon is the Founder and President of Worship Puerto Rico, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit established to educate, empower, and strengthen communities across Puerto Rico through disaster preparedness, health initiatives, and cultural preservation.
Founded in 2025, Worship Puerto Rico’s mission is to reduce loss of life during natural disasters by providing education, healthcare screenings, emergency preparedness kits, and resilience training for families. Through Community Days, the organization delivers hands-on workshops that blend disaster readiness with cultural exchange, volunteer training, and music-driven healing. Programs include:
